Ok. So I'm goin to admit that I will be a bit harder on our government websites since I feel they represent the country as a whole. The Bahamas Education website is not bad in terms of content. They have alot of information on there yet, I still feel like there is so much content that they have or need to get on there pretty soon. The content is not as up to date as it should be. Is this not a job that we can provide to someone in the office?

Each day, I do my research and brainstorming on ways to help the Bahamas and it's lack of technology. Surfing the web, I came accross The Bahamas Internet Association. I love the concept. It gives hope for the future when it didn't seem like there was alot of interest in this topic. In a way, the Bahamas is just like a small business in trouble as most others are, because of the lack of business due to the US economy. And when hard times come about, it's then necessary to develop new and creative ways to be more efficient in your business.
Knowing that there are many concerns and questions that a Bahamian business owner may have when approached by an Internet marketing or web design company, here are 4 helpful tips that will get you prepared before you decide what to do:
One of the things that make it hard not to point out and try to encourage my fellow Bahamians about internet marketing, is the unbelievably increasing number of Bahamians that have access to come online daily. I think that many of us are taking the internet for granted and using it primarily for the wrong reasons.
Bahamasissues.com is a pretty popular website, in regards to traffic, when it comes to all things related to the Bahamas. However, it's not setup as a modern website, it's an online community forum setup with vBulletin. Basically a place to go and speak your mind and find information and help from others.
Well let me start off by saying that I've never been a fan of the .bs domain name. For obvious reasons such as what the letters "bs" imply to so many. Also for the same reasons that I don't use much .net, .org or dot anything else: .com is just too powerful in the internet world. If you are going to have a website that you want other's to visit and easily find, then keep that in mind when determining the domain name you choose.
